Overview

Welcome to the Third Annual Aging with HIV Event Homepage. This year's theme is Mental and Emotional Health. The purpose of this event aims to identify and address the needs of individuals aging with HIV through community engagement, partnership, and education.

The webinar will be hosted by the New Jersey HIV Planning Group on Monday, September 19th from 12:00 pm-1:30 pm with a special presentation from Mable Taplin. For more information on the speaker biography and registration, please review the sections below!


About Mable Taplin

Mable Taplin, Community Liaison

Theratechnologies Inc.

Mable Taplin is a Speaker, Author, Patient Advocate, and Community Leader. With over 25 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, she has various clinical specialties including HIV, Cardiology, Oncology, and Mental Health. Mable is a proud graduate of Howard University. She holds a Bachelors' and Masters' degree in nursing with a focus on Community Health and Leadership. She is the founder and Executive Director of Joanie Girl's Heart, a non-profit, which mentors high school girls interested in pursuing healthcare careers. Through Joanie Girl’s Heart, she has mentored young girls around the world and completed several medical mission trips to Africa, Asia the Caribbean, and South America.

She is also the Chief Encouragement Officer at DiscoverHer Life LLC, an organization that helps women to create their unique path to freedom, passion and purpose, through coaching, retreats, and workshops. She is the author of Words of Wisdom From Women Around The World, an inspirational guide and journal.

Currently, Mable is a Community Liaison with Theratechnologies. She is grateful to be able to live out her purpose of empowering communities to be active participants in their healthcare through shared decision-making. In her spare time, she loves to curl up with a good book, try new recipes inspired by her travels, and dance in the rain.
