DEDICATED TO IMPROVING PUBLIC HEALTH

The NJHPG Pioneering Excellence in HIV Planning and Care in New Jersey

The New Jersey HIV Planning Group (NJHPG) supports the New Jersey Department of Health, Division of HIV, STD and TB Services (DHSTS) in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of HIV prevention, care, and treatment services. The NJHPG integrates the HIV Prevention and HIV Care & Treatment communities to make the best use of resources for both, while improving efficiency and effectiveness in planning in the state of New Jersey.

NJHPG is comprised of 40 elected members from throughout New Jersey. Members are selected through an application process including community and work expertise stakeholder groups, affected communities, and persons at risk for or living with HIV.

Public participation and input are welcomed at quarterly NJHPG meetings and at monthly committee meetings. Please visit the Integrated HIV Prevention and Care Plan, Including the Statewide Coordinated Statement of Need, 2022-2026 to learn more about our recent planning cycle.

Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE)

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) proposed an initiative, “Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America” to utilize developments in HIV prevention, diagnosis and treatment that will lead to a 75% reduction in new HIV infections by 2025 and 90% reduction by 2030. HHS agencies such as the CDC, HRSA, NIH, and SAMHSA decided to come together to provide jurisdictions with the needed resources and infrastructure to accomplish these goals.
